Avon Arsenal Comets U10 A vs Frome Collegians A

Seven members of the team
were at a birthday party just an hour before kick-off. So it was no surprise
that Avon made a sluggish start. A Frome goal after 5 minutes seemed to
Kick-start Avon and they began to play some football. Despite good runs by Ben
and Sam, Avon found it difficult to break down Frome. Eventually in a crowded
penalty area Henry's shot found the back of the net. In the second half chances
fell to both teams and during a goalmouth scramble
the ball released at Henry's feet for him to score his second. As the game went
on Avon began to tire and Frome achieved an equalising goal. The final minutes
saw Avon digging deep into their reserves to try to snatch the winning goal.
Unfortunately it never came, final score 2:2. Definitely less birthday cake next
time boys!!
