The game started evenly with
few chances for either side. The deadlock was broken by Frome Collegians.
Immediately Avon pressed forward to try to equalise and after several attempts a
good move down the right by James was finished off by Matthew G. 1:1
The second half started, again, quite evenly. Possession on the right hand side
for Ayman lead to a long shot opportunity, and boy was is a good long shot! It
curled and dipped just inside the keeper's left hand post. A determined response
from Frome was counteracted by hard midfield work from Zak and Max and great
defending by Ollie and Matthew B. Eventually Frome's hard work resulted in a
goal to level the score. Avon replied with a goal from George and this lead was
maintained after a couple of good saves from Owen in goal. Eventually Frome
began to tire and Avon took advantage with some great passing moves which
allowed George to notch up a couple more goals and complete his hat-trick. A
superb effort by every member of the team! Final score 5:2
