Avon Arsenal Comets U10 B vs Wells City B

Avon's starting line-up was Will in goal, James and Mathew B in Defence, Felix, Zak and Mathew G in Midfield and Dale up front with Ayman and Jack starting as subs.
All the early pressure was from Wells and it was no surprise when they took the lead with a shot from the edge of the penalty area just beyond Will's despairing dive. The pressure was maintained by Wells as the Avon defence did not close down the Wells attackers. Avon moved forward only infrequently, but on one of those moves there was a good effort from Felix which went close.
Wells went 2-0 up after about 10 minutes but this did prompt the best effort so far from Avon when Dale just failed to get onto a cross from the right by Jack. Jack followed this moments later, with a cracking long shot which hit the bar and again a few minutes on, a shot which was smothered by the Wells keeper.
The second half started with James taking over in goal and Will moving up front. Avon still maintained the pressure with a good early effort from Felix, and then Avon forced three corners in a row, Will heading just over the bar from one of them.
Against the run of play Wells broke down the right and scored their third with a long shot. Avon still went forward though and they finally had some luck when Ayman's shot was parried by the keeper but he followed up and managed to just lift it over the keeper - 1-3.There followed a good effort from Zak and a free kick from Will which was saved.
Wells added a further two goals in the dying moments to make the final score Avon 1, Wells 5 which was disappointing, but probably reflected Wells dominance for much of the game.
