 Additional Training

Our squad has grown to a very healthy 30 boys, and we are well on our way to being prepared for 2 squads of 11-a-side next season. Whilst it seems that the boys are thoroughly enjoying their Wednesday evening sessions, we are lacking a little bit in terms of pitch space and time, to be able to go through skill and team improving drills with them. What I hope to do is set up an additional session indoors, to concentrate on technique. At present, I have provisionally reserved the sports hall at Ralph Allen School for 6pm-7pm on a Friday commencing after half term, until Christmas. If all the boys are available, for this session, then I will divide the squad into 2 smaller groups, hence your son will be doing the Friday session once a fortnight. However, if a significant number cannot make this session, then I will run the course for those that are available, and then look to book an alternative evening for after the New Year. I’m well aware that we all have busy lives, and sometimes the last thing we want is more ferrying of our children from here to there – but hopefully, with some lift sharing and planning, the majority of you can come to some arrangement. I look forward to your feedback on this matter.

 Sponsored Track-suit Tops

One of our parents has very kindly offered to contribute towards some team track suit tops for the boys. They will have the club badge, and the player’s initials on the front, and the sponsors logo on the back and are fully lined zipped track suit tops. Taking into account the sponsorship, each personalized top will cost £6.50. The two sizes available are 30/32” (the size of shirt that the boys are currently wearing) and 34/36”. Unless you plan to buy another top next season, it may be wise to opt for the bigger size. I have samples if anyone wants to try them on. If replacement tops are required, or you wish to purchase at a later date, they will be around £15 each. These tops are, of course, optional, but if your son does want one, please contact me promptly.

 Last Season’s Kit and Subs

Finally, a couple of housekeeping matters. There are a couple of boys, who still have last season’s kit. Unfortunately, I’m not sure who, but if you come across them, please could you return them to me – Phil is in need of them.

Thank you to all those who have paid the subs – again there are a few outstanding, so if I could collect those soon, that would be great. The subs are £45 now and £40 in the New Year – or £85 now. Cheques made payable to Avon Arsenal FC please.
