Avon Ajax U13 vs Peasdown
Avon Ajax U13 won a tight game against Peasdown, at Batheaston Rec on the first day of October. The game was in the balance until 15 minutes from the end, tied at 1 – 1, with Peasdown having the better of the play, with the wind behind and, had had chances to go ahead. Harry Hamling was put through and his speed allowed him to slot the ball past the keeper. Peasdown, more used to losing than winning, then conceded, and Ajax played the best football of the game. Some lovely passing movements created opportunities, and Hamling got his hat trick when the ball ricocheted off him into the net.
Others on the score sheet were Schol-Binks in the first half, Jack slid the ball in, and the best goal of the game was a measured header from Conor meeting a precise corner.
It was a scrappy tense game, and Ajax will have to raise their game for the following weeks.
